Welcome Letter from the PTA President
Dear Cordelia Hills Families:
Welcome to the 2010-2011 school year! Cordelia Hills has a great sense of community, diverse student population, outstanding staff and wonderful, involved parents.
We urge you to embrace your child’s education at Cordelia Hills by staying informed. Research has proven that parent involvement has a powerful effect on student achievement and success! By staying connected with your child’s school, your child will feel comfortable in their school environment and hence, allow them to excel in their education.
For the PTA to be effective in our efforts, it is essential to have involvement from our parents. PTA membership is open to anyone concerned with the education, health and welfare of children. We have made it easy to join PTA by including a membership envelope with this PTA packet. Through membership dues and fundraising efforts, the PTA is able to purchase technology, equipment and special educational materials for our school.
This year will be packed full of Fun Family Events:
I’d like to personally welcome our wonderful board members: Dana Chapman – Vice President, Nichole Pacheco – Secretary, Paula Sanders – Treasurer, Teri Remo – Historian, Denise Johnston – Parliamentarian and Cindy Alameda – Auditor. And let’s not forget our Members-at-Large & Committee Members: Karen Garnick, Michelle Williams, Angela Falconer, Claudia Castillo, Jennifer Schwab, Maureen Kerr, Meilin Duncan, Sara Hawreliak & Monique Palmer.
If you’d like to get involved, but are unsure of how you can fit it into your busy schedule, there are endless volunteering possibilities with time and commitment flexibility. Come visit our PTA table at Back to School night on August 31 or visit our website at www.cordeliahillspta.org. We hope you will join us in bringing continued success for our school and students!
